First Entry

Hi everyone, I am Fen. I was born in Indonesia, where I spent my entire childhood and most of my teenage years, up until I was 18. Then Mom and Dad decided to send me to Australia to continue my study. In 2001, after graduated from college, I moved to Wisconsin, USA where I met my husband. Together we have 2 adorable kids, 2 turtles, many fish and a 4 months old puppy who is spoiled by his human family members.

This blog is going to be all about what I love to do and I am going to share them with you. I love food, love to cook them, love to try new recipes, love to try new restaurants. I love travelling, sightseeing and preserve the world's beauty with my camera. In my spare time, that is when the kids are in school, pets and chores are taken care of, I love to do craft projects, mostly cross stitching and card making. Check my blog for card making here.

Why "The Ugly Gourd"? Many people find them weird and unattractive, I think they are unusually beautiful and artistically one of a kind. I have a great passion for them. That is how I feel about this blog.
